Hymn
Before Christ, Saint Anthony
intercede for every sinner,
remove the mistakes, wait for the devil
May all humanity rejoice with you
Bind the devil,
don't let it hurt anyone
return to what we have lost
to the house of the Father let us come again.
Pray to Christ, Lord and man,
to keep us from any risk.
Saint Anthony brings out the grace for us
cure all evils.
Glory to the Eternal Father,
Holy Trinity without limits.
To the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit
honor, glory in eternity.
Let us pray: O wonderful Saint Anthony, we are coming to your feet, and with all the power of our hearts we are asking you to give us grace and strength from God to follow with holy obedience, which is so pleasing before God, and so useful for the soul. O white Saint, you who are merciful and generous with everyone, listen to our prayer and ask God to fulfill the desire of our hearts. Amen!
These 13 prayers can be prayed one at a time on every Tuesday of Saint Anthony. Or it can be made of them a nine day novena in honor of Saint Anthony of Padua.
1. Death O glorious Saint Anthony, among so many graces, for which you intercede for those who ask with living faith, those who wait for your intercession, free them from the danger of death; yes, please, intercede for God to give me the grace to save my soul from every mortal sin and pray that I may always live in God's grace.
1 Our Father... 1 Hail Mary... 1 Glory be...
2. Mistakes False prophets spread erroneous teachings everywhere and lead many careless people into error and unbelief. My powerful intercessor, Saint Anthony, you who were a preacher of truth, fear and terror for all heretics; pray that God free my soul from every mistake and give me true faith.
1 Our Father... 1 Hail Mary... 1 Glory be...
3. Difficulties Many times my soul is flooded with bitter difficulties. As soon as I get the solution for a difficulty in the holy confession, immediately afterwards I repeat my previous sins. Saint Anthony, pray to God to give me the grace of persevering in good decisions and in preserving the grace to master my evil difficulties.
1 Our Father... 1 Hail Mary... 1 Glory be...
4. Devil The devil, like a raging lion, seeks to destroy my soul. Saint Anthony, you are the fear and terror of evil spirits; in your word, the powers of hell left. Pray that God will protect my soul from every message of evil spirits.
1 Our Father... 1 Hail Mary... 1 Glory be...
5. Disease I am sick with sin, which has flooded my soul; the stains of the soul make my soul unpleasing in the eyes of God. Saint Anthony, my friend, pray to God to give me the grace to be cleansed from every stain of sin.
1 Our Father... 1 Hail Mary.. 1 Glory be...
6. The Sick The greatest transitory evil is health. How often have I harmed him with my reckless life. O Saint Anthony, intercede for God to grant us continued health of soul and body.
1 Our Father... 1 Hail Mary... 1 Glory be...
7. Sea In the turbulent sea of this world, the ship of my soul sails, the waves of base desires rise, the snarls of evil spirits blow; everyone wants to drown me. O Saint Anthony, with your gentle prayer, ask the Father to lead me safely to the harbor of salvation.
1 Our Father... 1 Hail Mary... 1 Glory be...
8. Captivity The world, the devil and his sins are placed in the shackles of slavery. O Saint Anthony, pray for me to gain grace and be freed from all the chains of sin, to live the full freedom of God's children.
1 Our Father... 1 Hail Mary... 1 Glory be...
9. Different Pains The pains of the soul and the body were reversed. O Saint Anton, the wonderful intercessor of the sick, when you pray for them, they do not need any other medicine, because they gain the heavenly healing of God's grace because they receive from God the healing of body and soul.
1 Our Father... 1 Hail Mary... 1 Glory be...
10. Lost Things Your glory spread throughout the world, because you made it possible for people to find lost things. Even I, O living saint, have often lost sanctifying grace with sins. Pray to the Father to give me grace, to gain the sanctifying grace and keep it forever.
1 Our Father... 1 Hail Mary... 1 Glory be...
11. Everyone Wins All those who seek your mediation, win; young and old, righteous and sinful, believer and unbeliever. You, O wonderful saint, are like the sun, which shines on all; come to help me, the poor, pray for me, whenever I ask you.
1 Our Father... 1 Hail Mary... 1 Glory be...
12. Danger I am close to danger in every step of my life. Everything was against me and my soul and will destroy me forever. O powerful Peacemaker, Saint Anthony, save my soul from all the dangers that approach me.
1 Our Father... 1 Hail Mary... 1 Glory be...
13 The Saint of the Whole World O Saint Anthony, you are not the saint of a city, of a country, you are the saint of the whole world. All peoples and nations call to you for help; pray for the kingdom of God to spread throughout the world, for all people to know the holy name of God.
1 Our Father... 1 Hail Mary... 1 Glory be...
Prayer to Saint Anthony
To you, O wonderful saint, we turn. You who saw in your heart the fire of great love for God and for the poor, and because of that you deserved to have the baby Jesus come to your side, who wanted to be born poor. We are turning to you with full hope, to pray to the good Redeemer, to have mercy on us in this difficulty. We are asking you to pray to God for ... This is what we are looking for. When we receive it as a gift, in honor of God and thanks to you, we will take care of the poor, whom you loved so much here on earth.
1 Our Father... 1 Hail Mary... 1 Glory be...
